Methodology
All data is collected by our server every 5 minutes and published as one snapshot. Profit calculations run in your browser, so changing your hardware or electricity price is instant and never leaves your device.
Which coins
We track the 25 most relevant proof-of-work coins, chosen by market capitalisation, reliable live network data and whether they can be mined at a European pool. A coin without at least one European pool is not listed. Coins that have left proof-of-work (for example Flux) or whose rewards cannot be estimated from difficulty (for example Qubic) are excluded.
Profitability formula
coins per day = your hashrate ÷ network hashrate × blocks per day × block reward
profit = coins per day × price − power (W) × 24 h ÷ 1000 × electricity price
- Network hashrate is derived from the current difficulty or taken from the chain’s explorer (24 h average where available).
- Block reward is the part of the block reward that goes to miners. For Bitcoin we add the average transaction fees of the last 144 blocks. Where a protocol splits the reward, only the miner share counts: Zcash 80 %, Dash 20 %, eCash 58 % and Firo 5 %.
- Hybrid PoW/PoS coins (Zano, Verus) only count proof-of-work blocks. Multi-algorithm chains (Tari) only count blocks of the listed algorithm.
- Litecoin and Dogecoin are merge-mined with Scrypt, so both rows show the combined LTC + DOGE revenue that a Scrypt miner receives at a merged-mining pool.
- Prices come from CoinGecko in EUR and USD.
- The estimate ignores pool fees, stale shares, luck, downtime, difficulty changes and hardware cost. Real earnings will vary.
Reference hardware
Each algorithm has a default reference miner (shown in the table). Open My hardware on the coins page to enter your own hashrate and power draw.
What makes a pool “European”
We list pools whose operating company is based in Europe (EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland) and, marked with EU servers, large international pools that run stratum servers in Europe. The country badge shows the operator’s country.
Status and latency
- Online – the European stratum endpoint accepts connections and the pool’s public stats API responds.
- Partial – one of the two checks failed.
- Offline – both checks failed.
- Latency is the TCP connect time from our server in Europe to the pool’s EU stratum endpoint – a rough guide, your own latency depends on your location.
- Pool hashrate, miners and workers come from each pool’s public API where available.
- Some pools (for example Mining-Dutch) block servers that open stratum connections without mining. For those, status is based on the stats API only.
Data sources
CoinGecko (prices), Blockchair (BTC, BCH, LTC, DOGE, DASH, XEC, XMR, ZEC), mempool.space (BTC fees), WhatsOnChain (BSV), api.kaspa.org, Blockscout (ETC), the official explorers and public nodes of the other coins, and the public APIs of the listed pools.
Independence
Coin rankings and pool listings are based only on the data described above. Pools cannot pay for a better position. The site is funded by a few clearly labelled affiliate links for hardware wallets, which appear only in a separate “Recommended” box.
